CLASS POLICIES

  1. Class fees must be paid IN FULL at time of registration.  You can register in person, by mail, online or by phone.
  2. A refund or store credit is only provided if you cancel more than 2 weeks prior to the start of class, for most classes.  If a Supply List is sent for the class, that closes cancellation for the class, which means that you will not be refunded or provided store credit if the supply list is sent out.  If you cancel within 2 weeks of class or after the Supply List is sent out, no refunds, transfers or store credit will be given.  Strict adherence to our cancellation policies is made out of courtesy to our instructors.  They work hard to provide excellent instruction and The Quilters Studio values their continued cooperation. 
  3. If The Quilters Studio must cancel a class due to lack of participation, the class fees may be transferred to another class or refunded.  We refund to the same process that was used to purchase the class.  Please note that we cannot refund to a debit card, in which case a store credit will be given.
  4. Class minimum is between 3-6 students, depending on the class, and it is up to the determination of The Quilters Studio or the instructor.
  5. Space is reserved on a first come, first served basis.  If you want to take a class with a friend, they must sign up at the same time, we do not guarantee seating unless enrollment is paid for in advance.  If your friend does not enroll in time to take the class, or it fills before they enroll, your enrollments is still under the class policies set here including cancellation refunds/credits.
  6. Children or your guest CANNOT accompany you to class without paying the full registration fee, which will allow them to participate fully.  Whereas there are no age minimums listed on our classes, please note that unless a class is specified for children or young adults, enrollment is generally restricted to adults.
  7. In order to keep class fees to a minimum, keep the lights on, and the roof over the store, we ask for your cooperation and offer a discount to purchase your class supplies at The Quilters Studio.  The Quilters Studio reserves the right to require that certain products be purchased at the store for the class.
  8. A 10% discount will be given when purchasing the required materials/products for a class.  The discount is given after the Supply List is sent and through the day of the class.  If we do not have the item in stock during that time period, we can order the item for you at the discounted price (approval for discounted ordering is required).
  9. Whereas some Supply Lists are available at registration, you will not receive the student discount of 10% unless the Supply List has been officially distributed.  This precaution is taken in the event we have to cancel the class due to low enrollment.  We only distribute the Supply Lists electronically and you may copy or print out the list for your use.  We have copies of Supply Lists at the store for your reference or use when visiting the store.
  10. When a class requires the use of a sewing machine, we ask that you bring your own machine in good working order and with the knowledge to use your machine.  There are some classes where you are required to have your own machine for class use and homework use.  You are required to bring basic sewing supplies to class as well, or purchase new items that you will need to accomplish basic functions of sewing.
  11. Basic sewing supplies include: scissors, thread, seam ripper, marking pencil, rotary cutter and mat, rulers, etc.  If there is anything listed on the Supply List specifically, you will be expected to bring those items to class.
  12. A limited number of sewing machines are available for rent.  They are reserved on a first come, first served basis.  The cost of renting a machine is $15.00 per single class.  In the event there is more than one session in a class, you will be charged for each class that you use the machine.  If the machine is damaged or broken due to your negligence in the use of the rental machine, you will be required to pay for the full repair of the machine.
  13. Each student must have a LEGAL COPY of the pattern or book being used in the class.  Due to copyright laws, we do require that the book or pattern for the class be purchased at The Quilters Studio as a requirement for participation.  The Quilters Studio supports any and all efforts to be compliant with copyright laws and will not be party to or support anyone either knowingly or unknowingly breaking the law.
  14. If help is needed in the selection of class materials, please do so well in advance of the class date.  Our instructors prepare well in advance of the class and we anticipate and expect that you will do so as well.  If you are provided with specific instruction to prepare something prior to class, we anticipate that you will do so and come prepared.  The class will not be held up to accommodate your lack of preparation.
  15. Class will start on time so please arrive at least 15 minutes early to set up and be ready to start on time.  Thank you.
